Accessibility
TWNTY-TWO® is for everyone. We want every customer to be able to browse, size, and buy a cap on our site — however they get around the web.
Our Standard
We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA as our benchmark. These are the internationally recognized guidelines for making websites usable by people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, are deaf or hard of hearing, or have motor or cognitive disabilities.
We treat this as ongoing work, not a one-time fix. Every new drop, page, and update is a chance to get it right.
What We’re Doing
- Describing our products. We write alt text for product photos so screen reader users know which cap, colorway, and angle they’re looking at. Purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Naming colors in words. Colorways are written out in text, so you never have to rely on a color swatch alone.
- Keyboard access. We work to make sure menus, product pages, and the cart can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible outline showing where you are.
- Readable text. We check text against its background for contrast, and pages are built to hold up when you zoom in or enlarge the text.
- Clear sizing. Fit details are written in plain language on our Crown Styles & Sizing page, not just shown in photos.
- Checking before launch. We review new pages and releases for accessibility issues before they go live.
Where We’re Still Improving
We’d rather be upfront about what isn’t perfect yet:
- Older product photos. We’re still adding descriptive alt text to images from past releases.
- Slideshows and pop-ups. Some rotating banners and our email sign-up pop-up are being reviewed so they’re easier to pause, close, and use with a keyboard or screen reader.
- Third-party services. Checkout and payments are handled by Shopify and its payment partners, and order tracking is handled by shipping carriers. Those pages aren’t built by us, but we encourage our partners to meet the same standard — and if one gets in your way, we’ll help you directly.
Need a Hand With an Order?
If anything on the site makes it hard to find product details, check sizing, or check out, email us. We’ll walk you through it or help you place the order.
Tell Us What’s Not Working
Run into a barrier? We want to know. Email us with “Accessibility” in the subject line.
