New York Cubans

Founded in 1935 by visionary owner Alex Pompez, the New York Cubans brought together some of the greatest Afro-Latino talent the game had ever seen. Playing at iconic venues including the Polo Grounds and Hinchliffe Stadium, the club featured legends such as Martín Dihigo, Minnie Miñoso, Luis Tiant Sr., and Silvio García. Their historic 1947 Negro World Series Championship celebrated not only excellence on the field, but the growing influence of Latin American players on the sport we know today.
